The short version
Solar in Pakistan costs Rs 70,000 per kW for on-grid and Rs 150,000 per kW for hybrid with lithium battery, installed, at SNM’s published rates. So a 5 kW on-grid system is Rs 350,000 and a 10 kW on-grid system is Rs 700,000. Under the net-billing rules in force since February 2026, a correctly sized system pays back in 2 to 3 years.

How to choose the right size
Each kilowatt produces roughly 4 units a day in Lahore and most of Punjab, about 120 units a month. Divide your average monthly units by 120 and you have a starting size. Two adjustments matter under net billing. First, size to your daytime consumption rather than your total, because self-used units save Rs 55 to 65 while exported units earn only about Rs 11. Second, if nobody is home during the day, a hybrid system that stores the surplus for the evening often gives a better return than a larger on-grid array.
What is included, and what is not
- Included: panels, inverter, structure, DC and AC wiring, protections, installation, commissioning, and the complete DISCO net-billing application.
- Not included: NEPRA’s one-time licence fee of about Rs 1,000 per kW, and any three-phase meter upgrade your DISCO may require for larger systems.
- Battery: included in the hybrid price. Because Pakistani homes buy backup for load-shedding and voltage protection anyway, we count it as a separate purchase when calculating solar payback.
Why the cheapest quote is rarely the best value
A solar system runs for 25 years. The price differences between installers usually come down to panel tier, inverter brand, structure quality and whether the net-billing paperwork is actually handled. A low quote that uses second-tier panels or leaves you to chase the DISCO yourself costs more within a year. Our quotes are itemised so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Why is a hybrid system so much more expensive than on-grid?
The difference is the lithium battery and the hybrid inverter. In Pakistan most homes install a battery for load-shedding and voltage protection regardless of solar, so it is best treated as a separate purchase; the solar payback is 2 to 3 years for both types.
Do these prices include net billing?
Yes. Every SNM installation includes the complete net-billing application to your DISCO. The only extra is NEPRA’s one-time licence fee of about Rs 1,000 per kW.
