By Asif Niaz Meo, Managing Director, SNM Solutions · October 2026
There are a great many solar companies in Lahore and most of their websites say the same things. So rather than describe ourselves, this page sets out what we have actually built here, what a system costs in 2026, and what the rules changed to in February, so you can judge us against anyone else on the same evidence.
What we have built in Lahore
SNM Solutions is based at M-27, IT Tower, Hali Road, Gulberg III. Across Pakistan we have completed more than 7,000 installations and over 5,000 net-metering approvals, totalling more than 45,000 kW.
In Lahore specifically, 67 of our published project pages name the neighbourhood they were built in, across 17 areas. Every one of them is a page on this site with the equipment list and output, not a stock photo:
| Area | Documented installations |
|---|---|
| DHA (Phases 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, EME, Raya) | 20 |
| Johar Town | 8 |
| Wapda Town | 7 |
| Garden Town | 6 |
| Gulberg | 5 |
| Barki Road | 4 |
| Valencia Town | 3 |
| Model Town | 3 |
| Sabzazar | 2 |
| Canal View | 2 |
| Iqbal Town, Izmir Town, Lake City, Green Avenue, Pak Arab, Kalma Chowk, DHA EME | 1 each |
A further 31 Lahore-side projects are published without an area in the title, so they are not counted above. The full set is on our projects page.
The larger Lahore systems
Most solar companies in Lahore are comfortable up to about 15 kW. The jump to commercial and industrial scale is where experience actually shows, because the inverter topology, the protection design and the LESCO sanctioning route all change. These are ours:
- 375 kW on-grid, Raiwind Road — the largest rooftop we have commissioned in Lahore.
- 300 kW on-grid, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate.
- 100 kW, marriage hall on Raiwind Road — an evening-load business, which is a genuinely different design problem under net billing.
- 60 kW hybrid, gaming zone in Johar Town.
- 60 kW on-grid, New Garden Town.
- 25 kW hybrid, Sundar Industrial Estate.
- 40 kW residential, DHA Phase 6 — the largest house system on this list.
If you are sizing something at this scale, our commercial and industrial pages set out how those projects are run.
What changed in February 2026, and why it changes the design
This is the single most important thing to understand before buying solar in Lahore in 2026, and it is the thing most quotations still get wrong.
On 9 February 2026 NEPRA’s Prosumer Regulations (S.R.O. 251(I)/2026) came into force and repealed the 2015 net metering regulations. Under the old arrangement an exported unit offset an imported unit, so export and self-use were worth the same. Under net billing they are priced separately:
- A unit you generate and use yourself saves the retail tariff, roughly Rs 55 to 65.
- A unit you export earns the national average energy purchase price, about Rs 11.
Self-consumption is now worth about five times as much as export. That has a concrete consequence: an oversized on-grid system is no longer a good investment in Lahore, because the surplus it pushes to the grid earns a fifth of what it used to. The right system is one sized to your daytime load, and for most homes a hybrid with storage now pays back faster than a larger on-grid array, because the battery converts would-be exports into self-use.
Our Urdu explainer on net billing covers the same ground, and this page sets out the full regulatory change.
The capacity rule to check before you order
Regulation 3(2) of the 2026 rules says the capacity of your system shall not exceed the sanctioned load of your premises. The older framework allowed one and a half times. If a company quotes you a system larger than your sanctioned load, ask them which rule they are applying, because LESCO can refuse the application on exactly this point.
The sanctioned load and the DG capacity are both printed on your LESCO bill. Our guide to DG capacity in a LESCO bill explains how to read those two fields, and it is the page people in Lahore visit most on this site.
What solar costs in Lahore in 2026
Our published rates, installed, with the LESCO net-billing application handled end to end:
- On-grid: approx Rs 80,000 to Rs 100,000 per kW.
- Hybrid with lithium battery: approx Rs 135,000 to Rs 170,000 per kW.
So a 10 kW on-grid system is in the region of Rs 800,000 to Rs 1,000,000, and a 10 kW hybrid with storage is Rs 1,350,000 to Rs 1,700,000. The range within each band is equipment: panel brand and wattage, inverter, mounting structure and battery capacity all move the number.
LESCO’s and NEPRA’s own charges are separate, and we tell you what they are before you commit rather than after. They include a NEPRA fee of roughly Rs 1,000 per kW and the bi-directional meter. A quotation that does not mention them is not a complete quotation. Full breakdown on our Lahore solar price page.
How to judge a solar company in Lahore
Four questions worth asking anyone you are considering, including us:
- Can they show you work, by address? Not a gallery of stock images, but named installations with the equipment list and the output. Ours are linked above.
- Are they AEDB-approved? The net metering application has to be filed by an AEDB-approved installer, so this is not optional.
- Do they size against your sanctioned load and your daytime usage, or against your roof? Under net billing those give very different answers, and the larger one is no longer the better one.
- Who handles the LESCO application, and what happens if it is refused? We handle it end to end; we have taken more than 5,000 applications through to approval.
The areas we cover in Lahore
We work across the whole city. These areas have their own pages with the local installations, roof types and typical system sizes: DHA, Gulberg, Johar Town, Model Town, Wapda Town, Garden Town, Valencia Town, Lake City and Bahria Town.
Our office is in Gulberg III, which matters less when you are buying and more afterwards: a service call anywhere in central Lahore is a short drive rather than a scheduling exercise.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best solar company in Lahore?
No honest answer to that is a company name, including ours. Ask instead for documented installations in your own area with the equipment listed, proof of AEDB approval, a system sized against your sanctioned load rather than your roof, and a written breakdown separating the equipment price from LESCO and NEPRA charges. A company that can produce all four is a safe choice. We publish 67 Lahore installations across 17 areas so that ours can be checked.
How much does a solar system cost in Lahore in 2026?
At our published rates, on-grid is approx Rs 80,000 to Rs 100,000 per kW installed and hybrid with lithium battery is approx Rs 135,000 to Rs 170,000 per kW, with the LESCO net-billing application handled. LESCO and NEPRA charges, including a fee of about Rs 1,000 per kW and the bi-directional meter, are separate.
Is solar still worth it in Lahore after net billing?
Yes, but the design has to change. A unit you use yourself still saves roughly Rs 55 to 65, while an exported unit now earns about Rs 11. A system sized to your daytime load, or a hybrid that stores the surplus instead of exporting it, still pays back well. An oversized on-grid array sized to fill the roof does not.
How big a system can I install on a LESCO connection?
Under the 2026 regulations the capacity must not exceed the sanctioned load printed on your bill. The older one-and-a-half-times rule no longer applies to new applications, so confirm the figure your sub-division is using before ordering equipment.
Do you handle the LESCO net metering application?
Yes, end to end, and it is included in the installed price quoted above. We have completed more than 5,000 net-metering approvals. The application has to be filed by an AEDB-approved installer, so it is not something you can submit yourself online.
How long does a solar installation take in Lahore?
The installation itself is usually a few days for a domestic system once the equipment is on site. The LESCO application runs on its own timetable alongside it, and the regulations set a deadline for each step, so ask for those dates in writing rather than a single vague estimate.
Do you work outside central Lahore?
Yes. Our documented work runs from DHA and Gulberg out to Raiwind Road, Barki Road, Sundar Industrial Estate and the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, and we install across Pakistan.
Roman Urdu mein aam sawalat
Lahore mein solar system ka kharcha kitna hai?
Hamare published rates: on-grid taqreeban Rs 80,000 se Rs 100,000 per kW, aur lithium battery wala hybrid taqreeban Rs 135,000 se Rs 170,000 per kW, installed, LESCO ki poori application ke sath. LESCO aur NEPRA ke apne charges alag hain, jin mein taqreeban Rs 1,000 per kW fee aur bi-directional meter shamil hai. Hum ye pehle bata dete hain, baad mein nahin.
Net billing ke baad solar ka faida reh gaya hai?
Ji haan, lekin design badalna parega. Jo unit aap khud istemal karte hain wo taqreeban Rs 55 se 65 bachata hai, jabke grid ko bheja gaya unit sirf taqreeban Rs 11 deta hai. Is liye system apni din ki khapat ke mutabik hona chahiye, ya hybrid lein jo fazil bijli store kar le. Chhat bhar kar bara on-grid system lagwana ab faida mand nahin raha.
Kitna bara system laga sakte hain?
2026 ke qawaneen ke mutabik system ki capacity aap ke bill par likhe sanctioned load se zyada nahin honi chahiye. Purana 1.5 guna wala usool nayi darkhwaston par lagoo nahin. Order se pehle apne sub-division se mojooda had tehreeri tor par confirm karwa lein.
