The biggest risk when buying solar in Pakistan is not choosing the wrong brand. It is paying for a panel that is not what the invoice says it is. B-grade stock, relabelled modules and warranties nobody will honour all circulate in this market. This page explains how to check, in the order that actually matters.
Check these four things, in this order
1. Match the label to the datasheet
Every genuine module carries a label with the manufacturer, model number and rated wattage. That model number must match the datasheet you were quoted against, exactly. A datasheet for a 605 W module and a label reading something else is the end of the conversation.
2. Look for the serial number
A serial should be present, legible and untouched. Sanded, overprinted or missing serials are a clear warning. A serial alone does not prove authenticity, because serials can be copied, but its absence is close to proof of the opposite.
3. Ask who honours the warranty in Pakistan
This is the question that separates real suppliers from resellers, and almost nobody asks it. A 25-year performance warranty is only worth something if there is an entity inside Pakistan that will process a claim in year eight. Ask who, and ask how, and get the answer in writing.
4. Be suspicious of an outlier price

What B-grade actually means
B-grade modules failed the manufacturer’s own quality checks, usually for cell defects or visible faults, and left through a side channel. They frequently work on day one, which is what makes them saleable. They degrade faster, underperform their rating, and carry no warranty you can claim. Sold as new at a small discount, they are among the most profitable things a dishonest supplier can put on your roof.
Insist on a specific invoice
The single most effective protection costs nothing: require that the quote and invoice name the exact brand, model and wattage of every panel, the inverter make and model, the battery if there is one, and the warranty terms.
“A-grade panels” is not a specification. It commits the seller to nothing and cannot be checked against anything.
