The prices are based on SNM’s published rates of Rs 70,000 per kW for on-grid and Rs 150,000 per kW for hybrid. The gap between the two is almost entirely the battery. In Pakistan most homes install a battery for load-shedding and voltage protection whether or not they go solar, which is why we treat it as a separate purchase when we talk about payback below.

During the day a 15 kW system will comfortably run five to six ACs, water pumps and a large kitchen, or a shop, clinic or showroom through the full working day. It is the right size for large villas and small commercial premises whose consumption runs through daylight hours.
Who a 15 kW system is right for
At 15 kW the economics start to favour commercial use. A shop, clinic or showroom consumes most of its power between nine and six, which is precisely when the panels produce, so self-consumption is high and very little is exported at the low net-billing rate. A three-phase connection is required, and the roof structure needs a proper engineering check for 26 panels.
Savings and payback for a 15 kW system under net billing
Since 9 February 2026, new connections are on net billing rather than net metering: surplus you export earns about Rs 11 per unit, while every unit you use yourself still saves the full tariff of roughly Rs 55 to 65. The maths below uses conservative assumptions: Rs 50 per unit all-in, half of the output used directly and half exported.
