The short version

A 10 kW on-grid solar system costs Rs 700,000 installed. The hybrid version with lithium battery backup is Rs 1,500,000. It produces around 40 units a day, suits a monthly bill of Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000, and pays for itself in 2 to 3 years under Pakistan’s net-billing rules.

10 kW solar system price in Pakistan: on-grid vs hybrid

System Installed price What you get
10 kW on-grid Rs 700,000 Tier-1 panels, grid-tie inverter, structure, wiring, installation and the full net-billing application
10 kW hybrid Rs 1,500,000 Everything above plus a hybrid inverter and lithium battery for backup through load-shedding

The prices are based on SNM’s published rates of Rs 70,000 per kW for on-grid and Rs 150,000 per kW for hybrid. The gap between the two is almost entirely the battery. In Pakistan most homes install a battery for load-shedding and voltage protection whether or not they go solar, which is why we treat it as a separate purchase when we talk about payback below.

What a 10 kW system produces and what it runs

Daily output Around 40 units (annual average, Lahore)
Monthly output Roughly 1,200 units
Suits a monthly bill of Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000
Typical property A 1-kanal home or a small office
Panels needed 17 to 18 panels of 585 W, needing about 500 sq ft of shade-free roof
Connection Single-phase is possible; three-phase is recommended
Net-billing licence fee About Rs 10,000 one-time (Rs 1,000 per kW), plus a five-year agreement

During the day a 10 kW system will comfortably run three to four inverter ACs, a refrigerator and deep freezer, a water pump, the kitchen and all lighting. It is the right size for one-kanal homes, joint families, small offices and clinics with several rooms cooled at once.

Who a 10 kW system is right for

Ten kilowatts is the size most people search for, and the one where system design matters most. A 1-kanal home rarely uses all 40 units during the day, so a plain on-grid system can end up exporting a third of its output at Rs 11. That is why, for this size, we look carefully at whether a hybrid inverter with storage or a slightly smaller array gives the better return. We also recommend a three-phase connection at 10 kW to keep the DISCO application straightforward.

Savings and payback for a 10 kW system under net billing

Since 9 February 2026, new connections are on net billing rather than net metering: surplus you export earns about Rs 11 per unit, while every unit you use yourself still saves the full tariff of roughly Rs 55 to 65. The maths below uses conservative assumptions: Rs 50 per unit all-in, half of the output used directly and half exported.

Estimated monthly saving About Rs 37,000
On-grid payback About 19 months on Rs 700,000, call it 2 to 3 years
Hybrid payback Also 2 to 3 years on the solar part; the battery is a load-shedding purchase counted separately

If more of your consumption happens during daylight, your saving is higher than this. If you would not otherwise buy a battery, add its cost back to the hybrid figure. For the full explanation of the new rules, read Net Metering to Net Billing in Pakistan: What Changed in 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of a 10 kW solar system in Pakistan in 2026?

At SNM Solutions’ published rates, a 10 kW on-grid system is Rs 700,000 installed and a 10 kW hybrid system with lithium battery backup is Rs 1,500,000. The difference is the battery and hybrid inverter.

How many units does a 10 kW solar system produce per day?

Around 40 units a day averaged across the year in Lahore and most of Punjab, or roughly 1,200 units a month. Output is higher in summer and lower in winter.

Is a 10 kW system enough for a 1-kanal home or a small office?

Yes for most cases. A 10 kW system typically runs three to four inverter ACs, a refrigerator and deep freezer, a water pump, the kitchen and all lighting. It suits a monthly bill of Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000.

What is the payback on a 10 kW system under net billing?

2 to 3 years for a correctly sized system, on-grid or hybrid. Self-used units still save the full tariff of roughly Rs 55-65; only exported surplus dropped to about Rs 11. In Pakistan the battery is bought for load-shedding and voltage protection and is not counted in the solar payback.
