The number worth knowing: what hybrid actually costs you
Compare like for like at 10 kW:
- Auxsol 10 kW on-grid: Rs 155,000
- Solis 10 kW hybrid: Rs 390,000
That is a Rs 235,000 premium for the same capacity, before you have bought a single battery. It buys you the ability to store solar and to keep running through load-shedding, which for many Pakistani households is worth it. But it should be a decision made with the number in front of you, not an assumption.
If your electricity use is mostly in daylight and load-shedding is not a serious problem where you live, an on-grid inverter puts that Rs 235,000 toward more panels instead.
On-grid inverters get cheaper as they get bigger
Look at the per-kW column on the Auxsol range: Rs 15,500 per kW at 10 kW, but Rs 12,000 per kW at 15 kW and again at 25 kW. The inverter is one of the few parts of a solar system with real economies of scale.
This is worth knowing if you are choosing between, say, 10 kW and 15 kW. The step up costs only Rs 25,000 more on the inverter while giving you 50 percent more capacity. The panels, not the inverter, will drive that decision.
Warranty is not a footnote on an inverter
Panels usually outlive their warranty quietly. Inverters are the component that actually fails, because they are doing continuous electronic work in Pakistani heat. So the warranty column matters:
- Auxsol on-grid: 10 years. Unusually long, and the strongest position in this list.
- Solis and Hisel hybrids: 5 years. Standard and reasonable for hybrid equipment.
- Titan 4 kW: 1 year. We will say this plainly, because you should weigh it: it is the cheapest per kW of the hybrids at Rs 22,500, but it carries a fraction of the cover. That can be the right choice for a small backup requirement on a tight budget. It is not the right choice if you want to fit it and forget it.
IP ratings: where the unit can physically go
The IP number is not marketing. It decides where the inverter can be mounted:
- IP-21 (the Titan 4 kW) is protected against dripping water only. It must go indoors, in a dry, sheltered, ventilated place. Mounted on an exposed wall it will fail early, and the warranty will not cover it.
- IP-65 and IP-66 (Hisel 6 kW, Solis 8 and 10 kW) are dust-tight and resist water jets, so they can be mounted outdoors or in an exposed utility area.
In practice this is a real constraint on Pakistani homes, where there is often no suitable indoor wall near the distribution board.
Sizing the inverter to your array
Match the inverter to your panel array, generally within about 20 percent either way. A 10 kW array pairs sensibly with an 8 to 10 kW inverter. Slightly oversizing the array against the inverter is normal and usually desirable, because panels rarely produce their rated output in real conditions, so the inverter spends more of its day working in its efficient band.
Under 2026 net billing there is a second consideration: your total system cannot exceed the sanctioned load on your LESCO bill. See the 2026 net billing guide.
Buying the inverter alone, or a complete system
These are inverter-only prices. For a complete installed system SNM’s published rates are Rs 70,000 per kW on-grid and Rs 150,000 per kW hybrid with lithium battery, which include panels, mounting structure, wiring, protections, installation and the full LESCO net-billing application. Frequently asked questions
How much does a solar inverter cost in Pakistan in 2026?
At SNM Solutions’ current rates, on-grid inverters run from Rs 155,000 for 10 kW to Rs 300,000 for 25 kW. Hybrid inverters, which add battery capability, run from Rs 90,000 for 4 kW to Rs 390,000 for 10 kW. All prices are for the inverter alone, not a complete system.
Why is a hybrid inverter so much more expensive than on-grid?
Because it does considerably more: it manages battery charging and discharging, switches to backup when the grid fails, and coordinates three power sources instead of one. At 10 kW the difference is stark, Rs 390,000 for the Solis hybrid against Rs 155,000 for the Auxsol on-grid, a premium of Rs 235,000.
What does IP-21 or IP-66 mean on an inverter?
It is the ingress protection rating. IP-21 is protected against dripping water only and must be installed indoors in a dry, sheltered place. IP-65 and IP-66 are dust-tight and resist water jets, so they can be mounted outdoors or in an exposed utility area. Fitting an IP-21 unit outdoors will fail it early and void the warranty.
Which inverter has the best warranty?
The Auxsol on-grid range carries 10 years, which is unusually long and the strongest warranty in this list. Solis and Hisel hybrids carry 5 years. The Titan 4 kW carries 1 year, which is worth knowing before you choose it on price alone.
What size inverter do I need for my solar panels?
Match the inverter to your array, usually within about 20 percent either way. A 10 kW array pairs sensibly with a 8 to 10 kW inverter. Oversizing the array slightly against the inverter is normal and often desirable, because panels rarely hit their rated output.
Can I buy just the inverter from SNM?
Yes. These are inverter-only prices. If you want a complete installed system, on-grid is Rs 70,000 per kW and hybrid with lithium battery is Rs 150,000 per kW, which includes panels, structure, wiring, protections, installation and the LESCO net-billing application.
