Prices from SNM Solutions’ published rates · Updated September 2026
The short version
A 6 kW on-grid solar system costs Rs 420,000 installed. The hybrid version with lithium battery backup is Rs 900,000. It produces around 24 units a day, suits a monthly bill of Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000, and pays for itself in 2 to 3 years under Pakistan’s net-billing rules.
6 kW solar system price in Pakistan: on-grid vs hybrid
| System | Installed price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 6 kW on-grid | Rs 420,000 | Tier-1 panels, grid-tie inverter, structure, wiring, installation and the full net-billing application |
| 6 kW hybrid | Rs 900,000 | Everything above plus a hybrid inverter and lithium battery for backup through load-shedding |
The prices are based on SNM’s published rates of Rs 70,000 per kW for on-grid and Rs 150,000 per kW for hybrid. The gap between the two is almost entirely the battery. In Pakistan most homes and businesses install a battery for load-shedding and voltage protection whether or not they go solar, which is why we treat it as a separate purchase when we talk about payback below.
What a 6 kW system produces and what it runs
| Daily output | Around 24 units (annual average, Lahore) |
| Monthly output | Roughly 720 units |
| Suits a monthly bill of | Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000 |
| Typical property | A 10-marla home with three ACs |
| Panels needed | 10 to 11 panels of 585 W, needing about 280 sq ft of shade-free roof |
| Connection | Single-phase |
| Net-billing licence fee | About Rs 6,000 one-time (Rs 1,000 per kW), plus a five-year agreement |
During the day a 6 kW system will comfortably run three 1.5-ton inverter ACs plus a refrigerator, deep freezer, fans, lights and a water motor. It is the right size for households that have outgrown 5 kW, typically a 10-marla home cooling three rooms through the afternoon.
Who a 6 kW system is right for
Six kilowatts is the size we recommend when a family is deciding between 5 and 10 kW and honestly answers the question of how many air conditioners run at the same time. If it is three, 5 kW will fall short on the hottest afternoons and 10 kW will export too much at the net-billing rate. Six sits in the middle, still fits a single-phase connection in most LESCO areas, and leaves a little headroom for the next appliance.
Savings and payback for a 6 kW system under net billing
Since 9 February 2026, new connections are on net billing rather than net metering: surplus you export earns about Rs 11 per unit, while every unit you use yourself still saves the full tariff of roughly Rs 55 to 65. The maths below uses conservative assumptions: Rs 50 per unit all-in, half of the output used directly and half exported.
| Estimated monthly saving | About Rs 22,000 |
| On-grid payback | About 19 months on Rs 420,000, call it 2 to 3 years |
| Hybrid payback | Also 2 to 3 years on the solar part; the battery is a load-shedding purchase counted separately |
If more of your consumption happens during daylight, your saving is higher than this. If you would not otherwise buy a battery, add its cost back to the hybrid figure. For the full explanation of the new rules, read Net Metering to Net Billing in Pakistan: What Changed in 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of a 6 kW solar system in Pakistan in 2026?
At SNM Solutions’ published rates, a 6 kW on-grid system is Rs 420,000 installed and a 6 kW hybrid system with lithium battery backup is Rs 900,000. The difference is the battery and hybrid inverter.
How many units does a 6 kW solar system produce per day?
Around 24 units a day averaged across the year in Lahore and most of Punjab, or roughly 720 units a month. Output is higher in summer and lower in winter.
Is a 6 kW system enough for a 10-marla home with three ACs?
Yes for most cases. A 6 kW system typically runs three 1.5-ton inverter ACs plus a refrigerator, deep freezer, fans, lights and a water motor. It suits a monthly bill of Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000.
What is the payback on a 6 kW system under net billing?
2 to 3 years for a correctly sized system, on-grid or hybrid. Self-used units still save the full tariff of roughly Rs 55-65; only exported surplus dropped to about Rs 11. In Pakistan the battery is bought for load-shedding and voltage protection and is not counted in the solar payback.
